face filter

For the character filter I wanted to create an avatar that gave the impression that it was either linked or had something in common with the world that I will be making on Maya in the next couple of months. I am trying to create a world that is based around lowpoly and has aspects from different games such as Minecraft which had an adventure feel to it.

The world will be very simple and small however I will be creating it in such a way that it seems larger, and more immersive to the viewer. I could not think of a way that I could include this aspect of the world into my avatar so I decided to have random shapes that tend to appear in lowpoly type worlds and have that rotating around the characters face. This was done because I believed it to be a challenge for me personally to create a number of different shapes and have them rotating in unison in a clockwise direction around the avatar.

I decided that maybe in the future i will want to create an avatar of a low poly character to really fit in the world, possibly a whole face or body filter and completely replaces the subject, however at this time I did not know how to do that, so at the moment I have a fairly simple yet also strangely complex avatar for my face filter.

I would say that I am indeed pleased at how the avatar came out, however I’m not proud of the finished artifact, I feel that i could have challenged myself more and included more features that would give a better idea of what I am trying to go for and what I like, however it’s a good place to start as I feel that I am more confident now that I can make another one in the future because I now know the basics of Spark AR.
