The 360 task that was set for us was to create a virtual tour of the UAL building, we were to make sure that we had at least 6 “gateways” in this project in order to give the audience and viewers a good understanding of the layout of the school building though the use of virtual spaces.
In the first idea that we had we where going to create a sort of maze that the viewer would have to find their way out of the maze whilst on a tour around the building, this idea wasn’t the best as it was complicated with how to actually make it so we went with a far easier but still solid idea. we would make a tour of the LCC building and create gateways at the entrance of the building and from there the viewer can choose where they want to go, either it can be forward into the artifact or they can go back to previous spaces so they can go a different route.
This was very different to what we are normally used to especially me because this was the first time that I had ever used a camera like this so initially when started I was confused as to how to use it but then I realised it’s just a camera that has two separate lenses that can capture every bit of the environment that I was in, then take the separate pictures and “stitches” them back together to create one seamless single image that you can rotate 360 degrees around in every direction and the image is still there. Our group idea was to create a visual tour around the LCC building through a series of 360 “gateways” that before you entered through them you would have to choose the next destination and once you got to that location you would be able to look around, there would be a some information about that certain location and then another option to move forward through the tour or go back to the previous location.
